In the spirit of #metoo, I'm sharing my short story, "White Bird Rising," a piece I wrote about a violent childhood sexual abuse experience (trigger warning) that was published originally in the Malahat Review, Issue: Winter 1992/93. To my sisters and fellow survivors, remember the body may be broken, but the spirit will overcome. I wish hope and healing for everyone in 2018!
