Kelly's Book Log: Just Kids by Patti Smith

Kelly Watt

A nostalgic skip down memory lane about the relationship and rising stardom of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. Two disaffected often homeless kids who find each other, their respective voices, love, and art in NYC in the 1960s. A great insight into what it takes to pursue the muse. I love Patti Smith. Her work seems oddly current.

“I left Mephistopheles, the angels, and the remnants of our handmade world, saying, “I choose earth.”
