In the poem, Say Goodbye to Your Old Life, from the award-winning collection, The Weeping Degree, author and poet, Kelly Watt, explores the experience of disclosing incidences of childhood sexual violence for the first time to family and friends.  Watt has created an interactive poetry installation titled, The Telling Pages, dedicated to the disclosure process in honour of #hamiltonartsweek2026. Often "telling" creates a secondary trauma when the victim doesn’t get the response they hoped for. This page provides a safe place to share, not the incidents themselves, but the experience of sharing about those incidents. After listening to the abridged poem, participants are invited to share their experience of telling. Five questions are included at the end of the video to guide the reader's response. Participants can respond to one or five of these questions either by filling out the website survey form, or through email. By responding you agree to have  your responses used in the installation, but on a first name basis or initials only.
