Cheesy, commercial, but amazingly well researched. A reliable dock read, summer mosquito-swatting page turner. Perfect for the dawg days. I give it a stay-up-late rating. The bravery of these young women who were sent off to fight the Nazis with little protection or help, is jaw dropping, and made me promise to never complain about my life again. “She had been made all her life, first by her father and then Richard, to feel as though she, as a girl, had no worth…”
