This delightful, rolling hill of a feel-good book is about a group of postwar friends who become a family and live in an old pensione in Florence. I’m obsessed with war books this July. I loved Sarah’s prose. My favourite quote is a refrain in the book that echoes its' theme--
to embrace life and love and enjoy what they have to offer. Makes a perfect summer mantra. It goes like this: "And remember: cherish the body, and the soul will follow."
